It is illegal to sell alcohol in a shop to anyone under the age of 18 years. Some shops won't sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 21.
Supply/intending to supply – max is 14 years inside
You can also receive an unlimited fine for any of the above offences. The difference between possession, supply and intent to supply can be a bit confusing.
Possession - when you have an amount of drugs on your person or that can be proved belongs to you, that is judged to be of no bigger quantity than for your own personal use.
Supply - when you pass on drugs. You do not have to receive money. You might give them away or pass them on for a friend.
Intent to supply - when you have an amount of drugs on your person or that can be proved belongs to you, that is judged to be of a quantity that is more than just for your personal use, or it
is believed you are intending to supply to others.
It is also an offence to:
- Grow cannabis
- Let someone smoke cannabis or opium in your house or on your premises
- Take drugs from one country to another (trafficking)
